IN this week’s issue of Boxing News magazine George Gigney talks to promoter Mick Hennessy about bringing the Tyson Fury-Wladimir Klitschko rematch to broadcaster BoxNation.

The first fight between Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury was aired on Sky Sports Box Office, and the announcement that BoxNation – a subscription-based channel – will broadcast the much-anticipated return was a real coup for the channel. It came shortly after it was revealed BoxNation will also show Amir Khan’s huge meeting with Saul “Canelo” Alvarez on May 7, which went some way in convincing Hennessy, who promotes Fury, they were the right place to go.

“I’m absolutely delighted. I’m pleased that it’s on BoxNation, they really stepped up to the plate, they gave us a great deal, the best deal,” he said. “We like their passion at BoxNation because they understand the fight game, they’re not trying to dictate certain things outside of the broadcast. For that, they’re going to get a great show. Once they got Canelo-Khan, I really took that as a good sign going into these negotiations. I thought to myself, ‘They’re serious, they’re in business’.”
