I’m really excited about the fight, and one I can’t wait to watch. I’m going with Lomachenko to score a late stoppage due to his amazing ring IQ. I believe that he really wants to put on a performance and make an example out of Lopez.

I’ve always felt Lomachenko would win this. He’s out of his comfort zone at lightweight which is why we haven’t seen anyone quitting against him at this weight. So there’s a big risk against Lopez but I think you will see a more cautious performance from Lomachenko this time and he’ll win on points.

My feeling is that Lomachenko is just too technically superior, although I do still worry about his old shoulder injury. Let’s hope that like when Azumah Nelson challenged and pushed the late, great Salvador Sanchez, that Lopez shows everyone that he’s a future star, even if his best isn’t quite good enough here.

Unless Lomachenko has aged overnight then I think he’s just too good for Lopez at this stage. Lopez and can bring the huff and the puff and try and catch Lomachenko. But it’s been a long time since Lomachenko was dragged into the kind of fight he might lose. He really is the matrix.
