DAVID HAYE was minding his own business, trying to promote his May 21 clash at London’s O2 against Arnold Gjergjaj, selling an ostensibly underwhelming announcement as only he can. He handed the metaphorical reigns over to Steve Goodwin – whose company, Goodwin Boxing, will assemble the undercard on May 21 – and, suddenly, a cannon went off. Shannon Briggs, “The Cannon”, burst into the press conference at a Park Lane hotel and challenged, not Goodwin thankfully, but the former two-weight world champion. Haye generously offered the American a spot on the aformentioned undercard for starters and, luckily for us, Goodwin Boxing were on hand to film the whole thing.
