SPECULATION is mounting that Tyson Fury’s rematch with Wladimir Klitschko could take place in Germany in May. But Peter Fury, Tyson’s uncle and trainer, has told Boxing News that no date has been confirmed and that he also still hopes the heavyweight world title fight can take place in the UK.
“Dates are being bandied around, people talk to various venues and then see what their available dates are, but it’s not reality; nothing is firmed up yet,” he said.
“All the contracts are done, it’s just the date and venue. I’d like it to be back in England for the fans, there’s a slim chance it’ll be Germany again but it’s a lot more favourable towards the UK, possibly Ireland. I’m optimistic for it being in the UK.”
