Nutritionist Robert Seaborne looks at milk and chocolate milk in particular and provides four main benefits a fighter can derive from this dairy treat

4. Calcium

CALORIE restriction can cause problems with bone health, leading to frail and weak bones. Chocolate milk contains over 600mg of calcium per 500ml – which is roughly 60 per cent of your recommended daily allowance. Consuming chocolate milk is therefore going to aid in improving and maintaining a boxer’s bone health during periods of calorie restriction and training.
