TERENCE CRAWFORD will make the first defence of his WBO light-welterweight title against Canada’s 29-1 (20) Dierry Jean on October 24 at the Century Link Center in Omaha. HBO will screen the fight in the US.

Crawford has fought once this year, the WBO lightweight champion stepped up a division to defeat Thomas Dulorme and win the vacant light-welterweight strap. Crawford is unbeaten in 26 fights and hugely popular in his home state. It will be the third time Omaha has hosted a world title fight for two-weight champion Crawford. Jean, from Montréal, Québec, returns to the ring riding a four-bout winning streak, three of those victories coming by way of knockout, since losing a 12-round decision to world champion Lamont Peterson last year.
