Lightweight

Jorge Linares proves, without doubt, that he is the best lightweight on the planet by travelling to Manchester and relieving hometown hero Anthony Crolla of his WBA world title.

Taken the 12 round distance for the first time in his illustrious career, Linares survives some difficult patches to find his second wind and stamp his authority down the stretch, almost stopping a hurt Crolla in the sixth.

Linares was the No 1 lightweight in the world and Crolla the No 2 entering the contest, so they retain their positions after a thrilling fight.

Super-flyweight

Donnie Nietes, who previously was ranked No 1 at light-fly, debuts at the new weight by dominating No 8-ranked Edgar Sosa. Nietes takes his place in the rankings. No 10 Nawaphon Por Chokchai notches a win against an unranked opponent.
