2003/4 – Khan and Brook spar as amateurs

August 2004 – Amir Khan wins silver at 2004 Olympics in Beijing

September 2004 – Kell Brook turns pro, outpointing Peter Buckley

July 2005 – Khan pummels David Bailey inside a round on pro debut

August 2005 – A potential fight between Brook and Khan is mentioned for the first time during an interview with Brook in the August 12, 2005, issue of Boxing News. Brook was 8-0 at the time and Khan was 1-0

April 2007 – Brook stabbed on a night out one week after beating Karl David

July 2007 – Khan emerges from a flash knockdown to beat Commonwealth lightweight boss, Willie Limond

February 2008 – Khan goes 12 for the first time, beating Gary St Clair

June 2008 – Brook beats Barrie Jones for vacant British welterweight title

June 2008 – Khan survives tougher than expected scrap with Michael Gomez

September 2008 – Breidis Prescott thrashes Khan in 54 seconds

November 2008 – Brook stops Kevin McIntyre in round one

December 2008 – Khan returns with two-round victory over Oisin Fagan

March 2009 – Khan wipes away remnants of Marco Antonio Barrera

July 2009 – Khan outscores Andriy Kotelnik, wins WBA light-welterweight strap

September 2010 – Brook halts Michael Jennings in five rounds

December 2010 – Brook blasts out Philip Kotey in two rounds

December 2010 – In his third defence, Khan wins war with Marcos Maidana

December 2010 – Brook calls out Khan, Frank Warren tries to make fight

April 2011 – Khan takes on Paul McCloskey instead, winning a technical decision after six

June 2011 – Brook taken the full 12 by Lovemore N’Dou. Khan is unimpressed and takes to Twitter to say so. Brook replies, ‘Don’t talk rubbish Khan, if you want it you can have it.’

July 2011 – Khan looks superb while stopping Zab Judah

October 2011 – Khan claims he’s open to the idea of fighting Brook in 2012

December 2011 – Lamont Peterson scores big upset, beating Khan on points

March 2012 – Brook outpoints Matt Hatton over 12

April 2012 – Khan tweets about Brook’s private life then removes tweet, drawing anger from Brook and an investigation from the British Boxing Board of Control into Amir’s behaviour

July 2012 – Carson Jones pushes Brook to the limit before losing a decision

July 2012 – Danny Garcia wipes out Khan in four rounds

October 2012 – Khan and Brook have a slanging match on Sky Sports show, Ringside

April 2013 – Khan gets up off the canvas to decision Julio Diaz

July 2013 – Brook meets Jones again, this time stopping him in eight

October 2013 – Brook looks terrific while hammering Vyacheslav Senchenko inside four

May 2014 – Khan drops Luis Collazo three times before winning on points

August 2014 – Brilliant Brook takes the IBF welterweight title from Shawn Porter

September 2014 – Brook stabbed on holiday in Tenerife

December 2014 – Khan dazzles against Devon Alexander

January 2015 – Khan rules out a Brook showdown while talking to Boxing News, stating he wants Mayweather or Pacquiao

March 2015 – Brook returns to thrash Ionut Dan Ion in four

May 2015 – Khan outpoints gutsy Chris Algieri

May 2015 – Brook too good for Frankie Gavin, winning in the sixth

August 2015 – Khan urges Brook to ‘prove himself’ against the world’s best then he will fight him

January 2016 – Khan annoyed when Brook signs to fight Kevin Bizier in March, said he was willing to agree to fight. Brook says Khan wanted too big a share of the purse. One week later, Khan signs to fight Canelo instead

May 2016 – Khan knocked sickeningly cold by Canelo Alvarez in 155lbs catchweight bout. The morning afterwards, in his Las Vegas hotel, Khan rules out Brook again

September 2016 – Middleweight Gennady Golovkin breaks Brook’s right eye socket en route to fifth round win

May 2017 – Brook’s left eye socket fractured during defeat to Errol Spence Jnr

January 2018 – Khan signs with Eddie Hearn, fuelling speculation fight with Brook is nigh

March 2018 – Brook knocks out Sergey Rabchenko in two rounds

April 2018 – Khan returns, stopping Phil Lo Greco in one

September 2018 – Khan dropped by Samuel Vargas but wins decision

December 2018 – Brook unconvincing as he outpoints Michael Zerafa. Afterwards, it is reported that Khan-Brook could happen in March 2019

April 2019 – Terence Crawford dominates Khan, winning in sixth but fight ends with a low blow administered by Crawford

July 2019 – Farcical mismatch sees Khan demolish Billy Dib in four

February 2020 – Brook knocks out Mark DeLuca in seven

November 2020 – Terence Crawford, the first and only common opponent of Khan and Brook, stops Kell in four rounds

November 2021 – Khan vs Brook confirmed for February 19, 2022
