NEW IBF super-middleweight champion James DeGale has joined Al Haymon’s huge stable of fighters, it was announced today. DeGale, promoted by Matchroom in the UK, recently beat Andre Dirrell on one of Haymon’s PBC shows to claim his first world title.

“We are delighted to announce that James DeGale has joined the world renowned Al Haymon for boxing management,” said a press release from DeGale’s agent.

“This move caps a memorable past couple of months for the Olympic gold medallist, having become IBF super-middle weight world champion, in the process making history as the only British fighter ever to win both titles.

“Joining a stellar stable of fighters, managed by Haymon, James can no doubt look forward to cementing his position as the undisputed champion of the world.”

Upon signing, James commented: “I am thrilled and excited to be working with Al Haymon. Exciting times ahead.”
