When and why you started boxing:
I started boxing when I was just seven years old. I’d often fight both inside and outside of school, so going to the gym helped to channel my aggression.

Favourite all-time fighter:
Roy Jones Jnr is my favourite fighter of all time. I liked his style in the ring and the way that he boxed.

Best fight you’ve seen:
There are so many different fights to choose from that I couldn’t pick just one.

Personal career highlight:
The highlight of my career so far was my most recent fight [in November last year], when I opened the Mike Tyson-Roy Jones Jnr [exhibition] undercard. I knocked out Sulaiman Segawa in the seventh round.

Toughest opponent:
Currently, I can’t really say who my toughest opponent has been.

Best and worst attributes as a boxer:
Discipline is the best attribute that any boxer can have. Being undisciplined is the worst thing that you can be in this sport.

Training tip:
In the gym, you shouldn’t try to preserve energy in order to do more rounds. Instead, you should give it all you can and work your rounds up from there.

Favourite meal/restaurant:
My favourite meal is frutti di mare – it’s a seafood pasta. I haven’t really got a particular favourite restaurant, though.

Other sportsperson you would like to be:
I wouldn’t want to be someone else, as I’m happy just being myself.

Last film/TV show you saw:
The last movie that I watched was the new Coming to America sequel [Coming 2 America].

Who would play you in a film of your life:
If it’s a movie about my life then I’d play myself.

Have you ever been starstruck:
I don’t think that I’ve ever been starstruck before.

Last time you cried:
I can’t actually remember the last time that I cried.

Best advice received:
The best piece of advice that I’ve received is to always pray.

Worst rumour about yourself:
There aren’t any rumours about me that I can think of.

Something not many people know about you:
I’m deep into the stock market with trading and investing.
