UK fight fans can breathe a sigh of relief as Sky Sports announce they will be televising Thursday's World Boxing Super Series final

DAYS after bringing Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez’s fight against Sergey Kovalev to a UK audience, Sky Sports have once again delivered the goods with the announcement that they will be televising Thursday’s (November 7) World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) bantamweight final between Naoya Inoue and Nonito Donaire.

The fight, set to be shown live on Sky Sports, takes place at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan and will see the IBF (held by Inoue) and WBA (held by Donaire) bantamweight titles unified, as well as decide the owner of the WBSS’ Muhammad Ali Trophy.

To reach the final, Inoue destroyed gifted Puerto Rican Emmanuel Rodriguez inside two rounds in May, a fight also shown on Sky, while Donaire broke down Stephon Young over six rounds in April.

  • Great news – but why did Sky have to wait until 3 days before the fight to announce they were going to show it? Better late than never I suppose.
