FLOYD MAYWEATHER is set to close out his career against the out-of-form Andre Berto on September 12. The self-proclaimed ‘TBE’ (The Best Ever) will once again fight on pay-per-view in the US and maintains that this will be his final fight and, should he win, it would extend his perfect record to 49-0, drawing him level with the great Rocky Marciano.

For most, his choice of opponent is a serious disappointment. Berto’s three career losses have come in his last six fights, two of which were to men Mayweather has already easily beaten in Victor Ortiz and Robert Guerrero. The bookmakers’ odds reflect this, with Floyd installed as a monster 1/100 favourite in some places and Berto a 16/1 underdog.

If Mayweather were to keep to his word and hang up the gloves for good after fighting Berto, how does that compare to how past greats have closed out their careers? Click below to see.
