FLOYD MAYWEATHER believes fighters need to follow his example, but from his younger days.

Speaking after a press conference for Adrien Broner-Adrian Granados, a fight which he promotes, he urged boxers to attend to their combination punching. He said, “I think that’s what fighters lack nowadays. I think what we do is we think about ‘Money’ Mayweather instead of ‘Pretty Boy’ Floyd. ‘Pretty Boy’ Floyd had a 90% knockout ratio, power puncher, fast hands, power in both hands, combinations, fast legs. Still I was always mental,” he said.

“So I was able to last so long in the sport because I was so mentally strong. I could never get discouraged from nothing. What I would do was anything that someone would say negative, I would take it and it would make me work that much harder to prove them wrong.

“My mentality is totally different from any other fighter.”
