MEXICAN Saul “Canelo” Alvarez might be the biggest star in boxing after passing an enthralling test against great veteran Miguel Cotto – previously behind only Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao in earning potential. Out in Las Vegas, the fans simply adore the flame-haired charmer. As I attempted to make my way from the ring to the post-fight press conference inside Mandalay Bay, I got lost in the underground corridors. I suddenly heard a huge commotion up ahead. Heading in my direction, jogging and smiling, was Alvarez. Around his waist was the WBC middleweight title he had just claimed, and behind him were flashing lights and an army of fans screaming “Canelo!” It was like I’d stumbled onto a scene from a Hollywood movie.
