SIMPLY put, when it comes to defensive capabilities, Mayweather is in another galaxy. Few men can claim to have put Floyd under real pressure and none can legitimately state they came close to beating him. Although he may not be ‘The Best Ever’ as he constantly claims, he is undoubtedly one of the best in history when it comes to not getting hit. Always one step ahead, Mayweather nullifies his victim’s strengths in any way he can.
Berto, meanwhile, is much easier to find. Wars with Robert Guerrero, Victor Ortiz and Jesus Soto Karass have shown how Berto can so easily eschew defence for simply trading bombs. At times, he has tried to adopt Mayweather’s famed shoulder roll but to little avail.
