KELL BROOK’S bitterest rival, Amir Khan has thrown his weight behind his fellow Briton’s brave, perhaps even foolhardy, challenge to outstanding middleweight Gennady Golovkin.

“British fighters running the sport of boxing right now, so many fighters willing to fight the best and taking chances,” Amir said.

Khan boldly stepped up in weight to take on Canelo Alvarez only to be knocked out heavily in six rounds. In the past Amir has had few compliments for Brook but he has now praised Brook. “Behind you 100% Kell Brook, glad you took a leaf out of my book, tough ask but anything can happen,” he said, before adding, “Just don’t pull out.”

Khan even had some words of praise for Kell’s promoter Eddie Hearn. He noted, “Great work Eddie, preferred to have seen Chris Eubank Jr fight Gennady Golovkin with his style but fair play.”
