John Dennen has been writing for Boxing News since 2010. After a brief stint as an unsuccessful amateur boxer he began working at the magazine as an editorial assistant, when he was shortlisted for the Sports Journalists’ Association’s prestigious Young Sportswriter of the Year award. He is now the Boxing News online editor and this year was recognized in the Boxing Writers Association of America awards. He’s interviewed some of the biggest names in the sport and has covered major events across Las Vegas, New York, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Korea and Macau as well as the last two editions of the Olympic Games. His book covering the rise of Anthony Joshua is published by Yellow Jersey Press.
Matt Christie has been hooked on boxing since he picked up a copy of A Pictorial History of Boxing in 1985 as a seven-year-old. He worked as producer of KOTV from 2006 until he joined Boxing News in 2010. He has been honoured by the Sports Journalists’ Association and the Boxing Writers Association of America. In 2017 he won the Sam Kellerman Media Award in New York and The Reg Gutteridge Annual Award in London two years later. He has also written about boxing for The Guardian and the Daily Mirror and has been used by the BBC, Sky Sports, BT Sport, HBO Boxing and Talk Sport as a boxing analyst. He has been the editor of Boxing News since 2015.
Paul Wheeler joined Boxing News in May 2011 and has been assistant editor since January 2015. During his time at the publication, he has reported from ringside at some of the biggest boxing events around the world. As well as having work published in the Daily Mirror, Daily Star and FourFourTwo, he was also the editor of Boxing News’ 164-page special bookazine entitled, Floyd Mayweather – A Boxing Icon. In the 2018 Boxing Writers Association of America Annual Awards Contest, he was awarded first place in the Event Coverage category.
