These 10 active fighters were introduced to the sport by fathers who boxed professionally before them

1. Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr

Chavez Jnr has been very much a love-hate character in his 56-fight pro career but did win a WBC title at middleweight. His father, of course, was one of the legends of the sport, winning 107 of 115 fights and ruling featherweight, super-featherweight, lightweight and super-lightweight divisions.

2. Chris Eubank Jnr

Written off from day one, Chris Eubank Jnr, a former British middleweight champion, has achieved plenty in a 28-2 career and remains on the hunt for a world title. His father never won a British title but did defend the WBO super-middleweight title 14 times.

3. Tim Tszyu

Tim Tszyu is unblemished in 14 pro fights and the current Australian super-welterweight champion. He is also the son of Kostya, a hard-hitting former junior-welterweight world champion famous for knocking out Zab Judah in two rounds in 2001.

4. Tyson Fury

Long before Tyson Fury defeated Wladimir Klitschko to win the world heavyweight title in 2015, his father, John, was making a living as a pro heavyweight and boxing the likes of Henry Akinwande and Michael Murray.

5. Shane Mosley Jr

Shane Mosley left his mark on the boxing world as a champion at lightweight, welterweight and super-welterweight, while his son, Shane Jnr, is 15-3 as a pro and was a finalist in the 2018 season of The Contender.

6. Conor Benn

Rough and tough like his father, Conor Benn is still learning on the job at 15-0 and knows he has a way to go to replicate the success of Nigel, who thrilled the boxing world during world title reigns at middleweight and super-middleweight.

7. Roberto Duran Jnr

Known as ‘Hands of Stone’, Roberto Duran was a world champion at lightweight, welterweight, super-welterweight and middleweight and widely considered one of the greatest fighters of all time. His son, Alcibiade Duran Galvan, is better known as Roberto Duran Jnr and currently 3-1 as a pro having suffered his first loss in June.

8. Jorge Paez Jnr

Paez Jnr is a 53-fight pro who has won just two of his last 10 fights. His father, on the other hand, was a flamboyant former world champion at featherweight who could boast 98 pro fights to his name.

9. Willie Monroe Jnr

Willie ‘The Body Rock’ Monroe was a middleweight contender from Rochester, New York, who went the distance with Otis Grant in 1993 and fathered current middleweight contender Willie Monroe Jnr, 24-3. Willie ‘The Worm’ Monroe, meanwhile, was Monroe Jnr’s great uncle.

10. Robert Easter Jnr

Robert Easter had 14 pro bouts as a light-heavyweight during the 90s, while his son, Robert Easter Jnr, became an IBF world champion at lightweight in 2016 and has lost just once – against Mikey Garcia – in 23 fights.
