Betway go 6/4 for Anthony Joshua to fight Tyson Fury in 2018 following the news of the latter’s intention to return to the ring.
However, a series of social media posts this week has seen Fury outline his plan to come out of retirement for mega fights with Joshua and WBC champion Deontay Wilder (7/2) in 2018.
Both Joshua and Fury hold an unbeaten professional record, and Betway’s odds indicate Joshua is favourite at 8/11 to take Fury’s 0 if the pair meet.
“The Gypsy King” will certainly be gunning for the belts he never lost and the leading online bookmaker have valued him at 7/4 to win a world title in 2018.
Wembley 6/4 favourite to host Fury-Joshua clash
Wembley is 6/4 favourite with Betway to host the encounter in what would be AJ’s second trip to the national stadium.
Manchester’s Old Trafford has also been touted and The Theatre of Dreams is valued at 11/4 ahead of the bright lights of Las Vegas, which is an 8/1 chance.
Betway’s Alan Alger, said: “Boxing fans have craved this British heavyweight tussle for years, and with Tyson Fury edging ever closer to a long-awaited return, we’re 6/4 for the pair to meet in 2018.
“It’s arguably the biggest fight in British boxing history and they’ll need a stadium to match the event. Wembley looks a likely prospect at 6/4, whilst Old Trafford remains in the mix at 11/4.
“Many boxing purists will have Fury as favourite, but we’re 8/11 that Joshua is victorious given his active status in recent years.”
