IN this week’s Boxing News, we track down Carl Frampton, Barry McGuigan and Shane McGuigan for an exclusive chat in New York ahead of the showdown with Leo Santa Cruz.

Here’s a snippet…

Had Barry McGuigan the manager been managing Barry McGuigan the boxer, would the Azumah Nelson fight have been made?
BM: Without a doubt. First I would have arranged a fight for myself at 130lbs against Wilfredo Gomez at Madison Square Garden. I am not saying I would have won, but it would have been a massive event. At some point I would have boxed Nelson. He was brilliant so I am not going to say I would have beaten him. Jeff Fenech gave him fits moving forward which is essentially how I fought, so yes, I would have been in with a genuine chance. Hey this is all speculation and I am not being critical of anyone, but I would have made the Nelson fight if we could go back in time with the me of today managing the me of then.
