VINNY MITCHELL has passed away tragically at just 31 years old. He died in a motorcycle accident in Dagenham on Monday. Two motorbikes were involved in the collision.

Vinny was a professional boxer himself, amassing a 12-1 record between 2007 and 2010. He was the brother of Kevin Mitchell, the former British champion and world title challenger.

Kevin said on social media, “There’s not many things I can say to say how heartbroken I am. I love you Vinny Mitchell I promise I’ll make sure your kids will know who there dad was. It kills me. See you again some day brother.”

Tributes were paid by the boxing world. Darren Barker said, “I tried to digest the terrible news of Vinny Mitchell passing all night, but I’m struggling. My brother Gary boxed Vinny a few times when they were kids, now neither are with us. I’m heartbroken. Kevin Mitchell, I love you brother and here for you all.”

“So sorry to hear about the passing of Vinny Mitchell this evening – all our thoughts are with Kevin and the Mitchell family,” said promoter Eddie Hearn.

Frankie Gavin said, “Devastated to hear the news of Vinny Mitchell. Top, top lad too. Thoughts and condolences to his family.”
