ANDRE WARD may be regarded as the world’s premier super-middleweight but his comeback fight, after a lengthy layoff, against Liverpool’s Paul Smith on Saturday (June 20), was set at a generous 172lbs catchweight. However the Englishman, not a big super-middle anyway, came in well over the catchweight and scaled 176.4lbs on Friday. Ward came in under the agreed limit at 171.8lbs.
