FOR boxing purists, Christmas has come early. A fight that has long been at the top – or thereabouts – of many wish-lists is Vasyl Lomachenko against Guillermo Rigondeaux. The two double Olympic gold medallists will clash on December 9 at Madison Square Garden in New York, with the Ukrainian’s WBO super-featherweight title on the line.
Undeniably two of the finest amateur fighters of all time, both have won world titles as professionals and earned positions in the pound-for-pound top 10. In fact, the winner will have a strong claim of being the best fighter on the planet.
