1. James DeGale

Chris Eubank Jr does need to rebuild, and so former super-middleweight world champion DeGale would be going back in at the deep end. But DeGale was out of sorts and in poor form when he lost his belt in his last fight. Speaking of which…

2. Caleb Truax

The American won the IBF super-middleweight title from DeGale but does not look too advanced and is below George Groves’ standard. Eubank doesn’t really merit a world title shot straightaway, but it would be a watchable fight.

3. John Ryder

Eubank Jr ought to return to domestic level and Ryder, who’s now moved up to super-middleweight, looked dangerous when he halted Patrick Nielsen in October.

4. Frank Buglioni

Buglioni and Eubank have traded words on Twitter. That’s not a great recipe for a fight and Buglioni is a light-heavy, but if they did take one another on, it would be hard to look away.

5. Jamie Cox

Eubank ought to move down to middleweight, in fact so should Groves’ last victim Jamie Cox, and these two would match up for an entertaining collision.
