THE Finnish and Åland-based heavyweight boxer Robert “The Nordic Nightmare” Helenius is travelling with his coach Johan Lindström to Holland for a three-week long training camp with the current world champion Tyson Fury. “I have to train with the best to be the best,” says Helenius in an exclusive interview with his sponsor Paf.
Team Helenius is traveling down to Amsterdam today and he will train and spar with the 2.06m tall, 120-kilogram champion Tyson “The Furious One” Fury from England. “I want to kick-start my own motivation and inspiration from how they train and set up their workouts. The more training I get, the better it is for me,” says an excited Helenius.
Robert Helenius says in the interview that the training camp will bring him into contact with other fighters, including legend Lennox Lewis, while Tyson Fury prepares for his much-anticipated rematch against the Russian Wladimir Klitschko. The two champions have their rematch in July.
Helenius also reveals that he declined an invitation from Klitschko in order to join Fury’s training camp.
“Klitschko called me too and therefore I could choose which boxer I would train with. But this Fury camp was better suited for me. I could still possibly go to Klistchko’s training camp later in June,” says Robert Helenius.
