2016 Olympic super-heavyweight gold medallist Tony Yoka has been give a one-year suspension for a doping violation, according to reports in France.

Yoka missed three drug tests, which constitutes a violation, and so the French boxing federation handed him a suspension for a year.

That could though become a lengthier ban if the French anti-doping association considers that merited.

Yoka became a big star in France after winning gold at the Rio Olympics, where he controversially defeated England’s Joe Joyce in the 91&kgs final. He is three fights into a professional career which is now on hold.
