Throwdown Fantasy closed out its #ThurmanCollazo games last Saturday with the Julio Cesar Chavez-Marco Reyes bout and while boxing experts continue to criticize Junior’s win, the boxing expert named LeftJabWriteCross continued to make the right picks by winning the #ThurmanCollazo $3K Throwdown.

LeftJabWriteCross finished with a very high 419.4 points which was 11.8 fantasy points better than second placer impactproductions.

 Winners pick the right favorites

Frampton-Gonzalez

So with the $25K salary cap, LeftJabWriteCross picked his cornerstones in $5,300 fighters Carl Frampton and Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr. Frampton was up against a tough foe in Gonzalez but at 20-0 with 14 KOs, the Jackal was heavily favored in his first appearance in US soil. Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr meanwhile, had a lot of questions marks entering his bout against Marco Reyes, especially since he was coming off a loss to Andrzej Fonfara just three months back. But Chavez was fighting a natural middleweight and a non-Top 10 guy at that so at 48-2-1 with 32 KOs, he too was heavily favored to win. With two sure winners already, the last member on his Big Three would become crucial.

160 pound fighter Antoine “Action” Douglas was a cheap $4,900 favorite who was destined to get unnoticed in the game with the likes of Scott Quigg, Frampton, Chavez Jnr,  Keith Thurman, Tony Harrison and even Ruslan Chagaev among the cast. But if you did your homework, Douglas was nicknamed “Action” because he has a 66.67 knockout ratio (12 of 18 wins). And considering the fact that opponent Istvan Szili wasn’t really an elite, Douglas was ripe for a big time performance.

The Big Upset Win

Going with his boxing knowledge once again, he picked Arthur Abraham with his remaining $4,600 salary cap when he had fighters like Francesco Pianeta, Willie Nelson, Hank Lundy and Marco Reyes who went at the same price. Abraham was at a salary disadvantage against Robert Stieglitz who was available at $4,800. But if you look at the history of their rivalry, King Arthur won 2 of their first three fights while Stieglitz had won once in his last three so there was enough reason to pick Abraham. True indeed as Abraham ended their saga with a 6th round KO that earned him 75.3 points. Abraham was the only upset winner of last week and it was what really sealed the win for LeftJabWriteCross.

Here is LeftJabWriteCross’ winning scorecard:

Going back to his strategy, LeftJabWriteCross picked three sure winners and got an unexpected KO. His underdog pick also won big so that just shows you how good this guy is in making picks. We used to call LeftJabWriteCross a boxing expert. I think it’s about time we call him a boxing Nostradamus because he keeps on winning with the right picks.
