PETER MCGRAIL took first place on the podium after three strong wins at the 34th edition of the annual international Gee Bee Tournament in Finland last weekend.
The Liverpudlian beat the experienced Finnish boxer Matti Koota in the quarter finals to set up a semi final against Kurt Walker of Ireland. He was awarded the boxer of the tournament trophy after defeating Russian Nazir Balaev in his 56kg final.
Christian Mbwakongo had to settle for silver after losing out to Irishman Adam Nolan in the 69kg final, and there were bronze medals for Lisa Whiteside and Blane Hyland.
