ANTHONY JOSHUA overcame a difficult start to hammer the resistance out of Alexander Povetkin in seven rounds at a wet and windy Wembley Stadium. The WBA, IBF and WBO champion was wobbled in the first and looked on the verge of disaster before he halted the challenger with a scintillating attack.

On the undercard Luke Campbell gained revenge over French rival Yvan Mendy, who beat him back in 2015, in a WBC lightweight world title eliminator.

2016 Olympian Lawrence Okolie bagged the British cruiserweight title against Matty Askin in a foul-filled stinker.

David Price succumbed to Russia’s Sergey Kuzmin, citing injury.
