PHILADELPHIA — The usual barbershop banter swirled at this local establishment. The guys talked sports, the pope and even out-of-body experiences. But this isn’t your ordinary salon.
The letters D, S, and G interlock on the fence in front, the logo for former junior welterweight champion Danny “Swift:” Garcia. He owns and operates the shop nestled on the outskirts of his hometown, a desolate neighborhood filled with factories and boarded-up vacant apartments where children frolic through gushing fire hydrants to cool off on this sweltering Monday afternoon.
