DEMETRIUS ANDRADE defended his WBO middleweight title on Friday (January 18) at the Madison Square Garden Theatre in New York.

Andrade halted Russia’s Artur Akavov at 2-36 of the 12th and final round. “We’re looking to get in with the best,” Andrade said. “Akavov he moved, he did what he did. He used the ring real well. I wasn’t going to try to force anything. The jab was working beautiful all night.”

He called out the fearsome Gennady Golovkin. “You put GGG in front of me, I’m going to destroy him,” he declared.
