THE NOTORIOUS Conor McGregor took to the stage for a tell-all interview at ‘An Experience With’ at Event City, Manchester, in front of 5,000 people.
Guests of the world exclusive, one night only interview experience were told first-hand about McGregor’s rise to mixed martial arts (MMA) stardom, his recent victories and what the immediate future holds by the man himself.
Entering the stage in style in his now trademark Rolls Royce Phantom, the MMA icon and two time UFC world champion, revealed that his success was all down to the power of visualisation, which has made him “richer than rich” and at just 28-years old the Irishman still has much more to give.
Whilst it’s been reported that McGregor has been quiet of late, the star aptly pointed out that despite keeping a low profile “not a day has gone by where you don’t hear about me.”
Putting the world to rights, McGregor continued: “I’m still the two time world champion, make no mistake about it and my shadow still reigns large over the division. No one believed I could do it and I was laughed at, but it’s that laughter and doubt that has motivated me to get me where I am today”.
On the much-anticipated fight between Floyd Mayweather, the MMA megastar commented: “Look, there are a lot of steps to get the fight done, but it’s the fight to make. It’s the fight that people want. It’s the fight that I want. I believe it will happen this year or early next, but conversations are taking place and an offer has been made – I believe this is a billion-dollar fight.”
Aside from his fighting career, McGregor also opened up about starting a new chapter in his life ahead as his girlfriend of over eight years, Dee Devlin prepares to give birth to the couple’s first child, who McGregor exclusively revealed would be a boy.
Revealing a softer side to his hard-exterior McGregor added: “I’m a world champion fighter but for the first time in my life I’m nervous. I hope that being a father calms me down a bit as I want to focus on being a good father and spending time with my son.
“I’ll be training that boy out of the womb as my records will only ever be beaten by my own spawn!”
Before heading to the event’s after party ‘Notorious After Dark’ where fans met their fighting hero for photos, Conor had a few final words for the fans, “2017 I’m coming for you.”
