PROFESSIONAL boxer Chris van Heerden has condemned the release of a video showing him sparring UFC star Conor McGregor.

According to McGregor this was “the first of a docu-style series I have created for my fans”. He continued, “The first video is a highlight of an intense sparring session I had in preparation for Nate Diaz and the possible future Floyd Mayweather fight.”

The six-minute film shows McGregor sparring van Heerden, holding out his lead right, clipping him with back hands lefts and marching forward with the familiar sight of his low-hanging hands.

Van Heerden took exception to the footage released. On Twitter he blasted: “When you have to cut and edit a video clip to putting pieces together to look good it shows me your real character. I sleep peaceful. Do you?”

He added later, “I’m not bitter at Conor. I’m mature enough to know he did not make the video himself! I did the work as a [favour]. I requested NO money helping him.”
