FORMER world champion Badou Jack is waiting for another significant fight at light-heavyweight. After a draw with Adonis Stevenson, Jack wants a rematch or failing that a shot at new champion Eleider Alvarez who sensationally defeated WBO boss Sergey Kovalev.

“That’s a possibility [fighting Eleider Alvarez]. I think he’s going to have to do a rematch with Kovalev, if not I would love that fight,” Badou told Boxing News. “I know him, we sparred, he’s a good boxer, a pretty good boxer.”

“Floyd [Mayweather, his promoter] is working on a big fight. So we’ll see what’s next, if it’s the Stevenson rematch, if it’s one of the other champions. Floyd always makes it happen. Anyone, it doesn’t matter to me as long as they get me a big fight,” Jack continued.

In the meantime he has been in England and took in Youtubers KSI and Logan Paul boxing one another in an unlicensed bout that did big numbers as a Youtube pay-per-view.

Jack seemed unruffled about non-boxers making money out of the sport. “I think it’s good for boxing, more eyeballs and more fans that like boxing,” Badou countered.

He thinks it’s a wake up call for boxing. “I’m there and Shannon Briggs was there and we get new fans. They got us a lot of subscribers [and social media followers]. I think we have to learn from them because this era is all about social media followers and subscribers. They did a great business move,” Jack said.

“I don’t think we should be jealous or hate on them. They risked their lives too and they trained hard for this fight. A six-rounder’s not easy for someone who’s never fought in their life, three minute rounds in front of all of these people. They’re tough guys. They might not be the most skilful guys. I had fun, we were laughing all night watching these guys fight. It was fun.”
