THE British Lionhearts have named four Commonwealth Games medallists in a strong line-up to face the Morocco Atlas Lions in the World Series of Boxing (WSB) this Friday (30 January 2015) in Casablanca.

It is the same team that defeated the China Dragons 3-2 in the opening match of the season and includes Antony Fowler (middleweight), Qais Ashfaq (bantamweight), Sam Maxwell (light-welterweight) and Ashley Williams (light-flyweight) along with Romanian heavyweight, Ionut-Mirel Jitaru.

Fowler, Ashfaq and Maxwell are looking to build on the good starts to the season which saw them earn victories in their opening contests against the Chinese team, whilst Williams and Jitaru are looking for their first win of the campaign.

Antony Fowler said: “I am really looking forward to getting back in the ring.  My opening bout was a bit of a scrappy affair that ended-up getting stopped on a cut, so I am looking forward to showing what I can do out there in Morocco and delivering a winning performance for the team.”

The Lionhearts currently sit third in Group A, following the win over China and a narrow 3-2 loss to the Ukraine Otamans last Friday in Kiev.

The Morocco Atlas Lions are yet to get off-the-mark following a 4-1 defeat by the Mexico Guerreros in Mexico City and a 5-0 loss to the Cuba Domodores in Havana.
