AFTER losing to Anthony Crolla in Manchester on Saturday Ricky Burns has appealed for a rematch. But Crolla could go in another direction.

Betway’s Alan Alger said: “After Anthony Crolla got back to winning ways with an impressive points victory over Ricky Burns on Saturday, another ‘Battle of Britain’ could follow as he turns his attention to domestic lightweight rival Luke Campbell.

“Campbell’s stock has risen in recent weeks after a closely-fought showdown with Crolla’s nemesis Jorge Linares. With both fighters previously expressing their interest in facing each other, it’s 6/4 for Crolla to step into the ring with the 2012 gold medallist in a fight that would pave the way for another world title shot.

“’Million Dollar’ Crolla won’t be short of options. He also entertained the possibility of a rematch in Burns’ backyard in Glasgow during his post-fight interview and it’s 2/1 for the pair to meet again. A trilogy with Jorge Linares remains an unlikely shot at 16/1, though.”
