IN this week’s Boxing News we have a guest column on Adrien Broner by highly respected journalist Nigel Colllins.
Whatever traction Broner might have gained by stopping Khabib Allakhverdiev last weekend was mitigated when he called out light-punching Ashley Theophane afterward, rather than an elite opponent. It was a lateral move at best, and you can’t blame his critics for thinking Broner is more interested in easy money than building a gilt-edged legacy. In some respects, Broner is a victim of his own success. He breezed though the first five years of his career so effortlessly, he must have thought it was always going to be that easy.
