TWO of the best featherweights in the world made big statements last weekend and Boxing News’ Zach Levin was ringside at Madison Square Garden to see it. Cuban dynamo Yuriokis Gamboa and Puerto Rican puncher Juan Manuel Lopez stayed on course for an eventual superfight but in differing circumstances, while Derryman John Duddy was also on the bill.

There was controversy for some in Brentwood when the decision was announced in the British bantamweight title fight between defending champion Ian Napa and challenger Jamie McDonnell.
