The dawn of a new era
This week's issue
AS an exciting year for boxing begins, the Tris Dixon era also kicks off in BN Towers. The new editor introduces himself but we're also jam-packed with news, reports and features.
We have the very latest on the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao will-they-won't-they saga, Paulie Malignaggi waits in the wings for "Money" then targets Amir Khan for the summer, you can read what's in store for Danny Green after his wipe-out of Roy Jones and Nathan Cleverly may not have to go to Italy after all.
Elsewhere, Daniel Herbert pens a touching tribute to legendary late fight figure Terry Lawless, who passed away just before Christmas.
Our Action section is led by Kelly Pavlik's latest hometown battle, while we were ringisde for the title fights in Bethnal Green involving Albert Sosnowski and Carl Dilks.
We look ahead to big fights coming up for WBO super-middleweight champion Robert Stieglitz, quality middle Roman Karmazin and Juan carlos Salgado, who shocked Jorge Linares last year.
Our Big Feature is on Jeff Mayweather, who refreshingly does not embody many of the traits possessed by his bombastic family members, and our State of the Game subject is matchmaker and press officer Tomas Rohan.
Finally, in keeping with the fresh start, we introduce some new sections, including a guest column (it's Bob Mee in the chair this week), vox pops and a revamped 10-Count.
