Khan's banana skin?
This week's issue
AMIR KHAN is the main focus of our Preview section this week, Bolton's WBA light-welterweight champion getting ready for his first defence, against talented New York-based Russian Dmitriy Salita, in Newcastle this weekend. Editor Claude Abrams weighs up the fight and gives his all-important prediction. The undercard at the Metro Arena is packed with intriguing matches and we anticipate them all, including Kevin Mitchell's acid test against Khan conqueror Breidis Prescott, former WBO super-featherweight champion Alex Arthur facing Nigel Wright at light-welterweight and stern examinations for all three of promoter Frank Warren's Olympians.
The Preview part of the magazine is not all Newcastle however. Danny Flexen looks ahead to a Prizefighter tournament featuring the strongest field so far as the light-welterweights square up and we also give you the lowdown on Paul Williams-Sergio Martinez, Marco Huck-Ola Afolabi and Matthew Macklin's tune-up in Dublin.
We have plenty of action for you too, with Tris Dixon reporting from ringside in Brentwood as Darren Barker faced late sub Danny Butler in a double title clash, and Andy Whittle was up-close and personal as Anthony Small and Thomas McDonagh 'fought' it out in Wigan.
Our Big Feature this week is on Mitchell's trainer Jimmy Tibbs who talks Kevin, Prescott and prison. Our 60-Second Interview is with Frankie Gavin and our News section has the latest on Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather and Felix Sturm linking up with Freddie Roach.
